Double Mountain Brewery
Love this place. Love, Love, Love. The beer is great and the pizza is amazing.
Here is one reason I like beer better than wine. I know there is more than one, but just one for today. When you go to a winery you can sample all you want, but there is either a fee required to do so or a tip that is expected.
When you go into a brewery their goal is to find a beer that you will love. They will bring out samples until they do and Double Mountain Brewery is no exception to this rule.
The first time I went I wanted to sample 2 beers but they thought I needed to try at least one more, so they brought 3 small samples. I made my way through until I found one that pleased me. This time I wanted to try the red. I knew I had tried it before, but I am trying to venture out a little more, so I tried it again, and what do you know, I liked it.
Picking a pizza wasn’t easy, but we chose the Margarita pizza and it does not disappoint. Anything with fresh basil makes me happy though. There are many, many more that I would love to try and they always have specials that are sometimes seasonal.
Here is what they say on their menu about their pizzas.
We make our pizza pretty much the same way they do it in New Haven, Connecticut, the pizza capital of the world. We run our ovens at close to 700 degrees F, cooking the pizzas super-fast and creating spots of superficial char on the crust. It creates great flavor…but if you think you’d like less char, please inform us ahead of time.
Even though this does look like just a beer joint, they do allow minors in there. It actually looks kind of like a coffee shop inside with come couches and stuff. Pretty cool I must say. I didn’t take any pictures because the place was packed and it’s not super big, so it would have just been awkward. You will just need to trust me.
Update:: The space has been updated and it is now huge inside. That doesn’t mean you won’t have to wait though. This place is special and everyone that has ever tried it wants to go back.
- Atmosphere is much like a coffee shop. All the skiers and snowboarders gather at the end of the day.
- Pricing is about $15 – $17 for a pizza. The crust is super thin and 1 pizza feeds about 2 people.
- This is obviously a brewery so the beer is a flowing and people are taking it to go as well.
- Service is not the best. Just be willing to get up and ask for what you need.
