I was so excited to see that Sinju was offering a coupon a couple weeks back, so I grabbed it in anticipation of yet another visit. It had been quite some time since my last visit, yet my first visit to this Pearl location.
I already had in mind that we would order the ahi tuna tower. That’s a given when you go to Sinju. From there we just began to choose some favorites or some that looked good. We ended up with quite a selection. I wish we would have asked for a little more direction because we kind of got caught in a rut and ordered the same ole thing.
We really did have plenty of food. Everything was fresh and tasty, but it wasn’t over the top delicious. I guess since we have been to Bamboo Sushi and Yakuza we kind of got spoiled with really good high quality sushi. I kind of felt like this was maybe a step above what we would order at our local sushi train. That was definitely disappointing.
I also felt like the atmosphere wasn’t nearly as nice as the Sinju at Bridgeport, I was actually surprised by that since we were in the Pearl after all. The service was top notch. Our server kept the glasses full and checked on us often. I guess it just came down to an ordering error, which if you have followed my blog at all, you know that I have done it before and I will probably do it again.
All that to say, it was fine. I probably won’t be back, but you can’t win them all. I checked Yelp and they have lots of great reviews, so don’t rule them out. Just read up and see what you think before you go.
- Atmosphere was not very exciting and much less appealing than the Bridgeport location.
- Service was great.
- Prices were pretty high for the quality.
- Sinju is located in the Pearl.
