Pork Chop City

There are plenty of people in my family that love BBQ, so I knew we needed to check this place out and bring them all along. I actually used to drive by this food cart all the time when it was in Beaverton, but then one day it was gone. Luckily I found them on Facebook and managed to track them down and find their new location.  Change that, now they are BACK in Beaverton.

With our loaded car, we took off to Pork Chop City. I knew once we had the general area we would easily find this cart because it is the Queen Mother of all food carts. This thing is huge, I mean huge and it has TV screens on the outside too. Did I mention how crazy big it was?

What do you even call something this size?

Looks aside, I needed to know if they had good food. After much questioning, comparing pics on their Facebook with actual menu items and after we sampled the meats we chose this one because of there was more than one meat. we knew we were going to order the Simply Wrong, which is Smoked pulled Pork, Smoked Brisket & Cole Slaw on a Portland a Warmed Bun.  We all agreed that even the coleslaw was done right.

My father in law liked the taste of the just Smoked Brisket and ordered a Bento. The bento is super simple and yet amazing. You can see it here, meat on top of rice. I have to say after sampling both I preferred the Bento. I know it sounds crazy, but you have to remember it’s a good enough item that it actually makes the menu list, so you know it’s good!

The portions are just as big at the food cart/truck/rig itself. Big enough to share, if you are the sharing type.

  • Atmosphere is pretty simple. But that’s good. Plenty of parking, easy access, and lots of places to sit and eat if you choose.
  • Pricing is pretty average. The Brisket Bento was the most expensive at $10, but it was a really large serving.
  • Service was great. I just love when they are helpful and when they give samples to help you make a good decision.
  • Pork Chop City is located on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy & 91st Ave.
