This last weekend was a blast. I had company from out of town. My friend reads my blog and just loves all the food that Portland has to offer. She said she wanted to take one day and eat our way through Portland. If I was going to be a good hostess I needed to do what she wanted. Poor me.
We started the day with a nice, light, leisurely breakfast at the house. Then we got our walking shoes on and started the day long eating adventure.
Many places I have already reviewed, I am just showing you it is possible to eat your way through if you ever to come to town for a visit.

LATE BREAKFAST OR DESSERT FIRST – WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT ::
Our first stop was the Waffle Window. I love this place, love, love, love. I promise to go back and do a full review.

There were four of us girls. We ordered two waffles, one sweet and one savory. Mixed Berry with Lime Curd sauce and the Basil, Bacon and Brie was the other. Yum!
LUNCH ::
From there we made our way down to Por Que No? This is such a fun place to take out of town guest because the outdoor seating is so eclectic and cute. The food is off the charts good too. We each got 2 tacos. The spring taco was still there, so I was so happy, but they had added a summer veggie taco. I got that and wished I had gotten two. Now keep in mind I am a full on meat eater, but these veggie tacos are amazing.

At this point we took a little break and drove up to Mt. Tabor and hiked around a bit. We enjoyed the views and made more room so we could keep on eating.
DONUTS DETOUR ::
My friend had read about Annie’s Donuts. I had no clue what it was, so we made our way over. Frumpy little building that looked like an old Winchell’s. According to the girls the donuts were very, very good. I am not a huge donuts fan, and the cinnamon rolls didn’t look promising at all, so I mostly just supervised the eating.
From there we made our way to the Eastside Voodoo donuts. I am glad we tried this one as I had only been to the other one. I have to admit they have done a great job with this one. There was still a line, so don’t be thinking this one gets any less attention. I think what I loved most is that there was tons of free parking. TONS!! According to the girls Annie’s was better. Just saying… Again I mostly just supervised the eating.
COFFEE/BEER BREAK ::
After our huge sugar high we decided to head over to Baristadors, because who doesn’t like a coffee shop that brews their own beer and makes their own caramel for lattes. We got beers, lattes and coffees and just sat and talked and enjoyed the conversation.
We were pretty sure we were too full to eat any more, so we made our way home. After some thinking we decided we should at least hit one more place.
DINNER ::
We made our way down to Parallel 45 in Tualatin. I promise one of these days I will go down, take lots of pictures and write this place up. I didn’t this time because we all got salads. They have some pretty impressive dishes, so I won’t waste a review on my awesome beet salad. Love me the beet salad. Parallel 45 review is finally done.
After that we moseyed around the lake hoping to burn off some of the food we ate and headed home. I think the day was pretty much a success. Best part, I don’t even think I spent $15 today.
It didn’t end there, then we got up the next morning and I took them to breakfast at Porcelli’s on their way out of town. We used the coupon from Restaurant.com and we all ate for just $7 each including tip. Those eggs benedict are the best ever! I am not kidding. They have some secret ingredient in the hollandaise sauce and I am pretty sure it’s crack cocaine, because I am craving it big time again.
Love me some Waffle Window! I have to send my cousins your blog. Portland is such an amazing place to eat! i never even got around to posting about some amazing dinners and snacks we had (dinner at Andina, obviously snack at Voodoo Doughnuts).
Amy is a great guide for eating your way through Portland. Great food. Low cost. Thanks, Amy!
Oh anytime. I do love my food and I do love Portland.
