The first time I went down I was blown away by the amazing food, the affordable prices and the HUGE portions. I was just thinking they needed to upgrade their tea. I wrote about it and the owner contacted me and acted on my suggestion. Since then she has ordered Two Leaves and Bud tea. Apparently since getting it in, it has been a huge hit with customers.
The owner wanted me to come back and check out the new tea selection. She had also read my About page and knew I liked anything pork. She wanted to make her favorite pork dish for me. What’s not to love about that?
I finally made my way back to Word of Mouth in Salem. For a full review of Word of Mouth go here.

Here is the special Becky wanted me to come down and try.
Blackened Pork Chops with Prawns, Andouille & Hollandaise-
Two quarter-pound pork chops blackened with Cajun spice and topped with Cajun Black Tiger prawns, sliced Andouille sausage and Hollandaise. Served with smashed Baby Yukon Gold potatoes, two eggs cooked your way and fresh baked bread. Don’t forget Mother Teresa’s Strawberry Freezer Jam! $12.95
First off the portion size was ginormous. The flavors were amazing. I don’t know that I would have ordered that without a suggestion, but I am glad she told me I needed to. I am pretty adventurous with my food. Check out what I ate and Urban Farmer and enjoyed.
Needless to say, it was truly amazing. Just enough kick, lots of flavors going on, yet not one thing was over powering. I almost opted out of the potatoes because it did sound heavy, but I thought I had better go all out, and I was not disappointed, very full, but not disappointed.

My husband got the Plate O’ Love again with the corned beef hash. Their corned beef hash is so incredibly good. Believe it or not I was eating off my plate and his plate. We managed to finish almost every thing because I am not a quitter.
There are some places that when you return to you are almost disappointed that it wasn’t quite as good as you remember, but not with Word of Mouth. The staff is so pleasant, the ambiance is so quaint and the food is off the charts good.
If you have not been you need to try Word of Mouth. Come prepared to wait, because food that good is not delivered in a box, from a truck, in a package that says “just add water.”
Now off to run some hills, because that was a lot of food!!!
Looks mighty tasty!
