I have had the opportunity to do 3 Portland Food Adventures (PFA). My first one was at Paadee, then onto Hokusei, and finally at Le Pigeon. I have had my eye on several others, but for now those are the ones I have been able to attend. Now Portland Food Adventures has added something on to these dining experiences, “In the Kitchen.” This is something that I have not yet done. The cool part is, you can enter to win and actually experience this before me. Then you can tell me all about this. Plus you can take a friend as I am giving away 2 seats.
Here is what the evening will look like, you will go to Standard TV and Appliance in Beaverton on January 23rd at 6:45. Chef Sarah Schafer from Irving Street Kitchen will do a cooking demo/lesson. This is such a neat opportunity to learn from the best and enjoy the meal as well. Not only that, but you will have the opportunity to talk with the chef and ask questions, which I think is one of the greatest things about doing PFA’s. I like to hear the stories behind where their passion came from and how it has grown. If you are still wondering about this dining experience check out this post here. This was from a previous “In the Kitchen” with Vitaly Paley and Patrick McKee. (photo above)
I almost forgot one my favorite parts about PFA’s. You meet new people. All dining is community style and part of the experience is meeting your neighbors. I have even gone alone and had the best time because everyone is there to meet new people, so it’s really easy to settle into.
Take the time to check out Portland Food Adventures Facebook page. You can follow along there with any upcoming PFA’s or “In the Kitchen” events. At the end of February Cocotte, is going to be the destination of a PFA. I chose Cocotte as my favorite dining experience in 2013. I love this place and I am hoping to attend this one because I am excited to meet the chef.
This giveaway has a specific date of January 23rd at 6:45. Please make sure that works for you before you enter to win this giveaway.
Here is how you can win this ::
- Look through the list of Portland Food Adventures that have already taken place, plus those coming up next and tell me which one you wish you would have done or would like to do.
- Find this post on my Facebook page for another way to win.
- Follow me on Pinterest to keep up to date with all my giveaways (February will be a month of giveaways) and posts.

Irving Kitchen sound like a fun night, but any experience would be exciting to be involve with!!
Wow, so many great places. But Ox would narrowly take the top spot on my wishlist.
I would have loved to go to the Ox event. I have never been and I love the look of that place. Very sexy.
Since Cocotte provided one of your most memorable 2013 meals- would have to pic that one! LOVE French food.
I would love to try Cocotte. It has been on my list and this would be a perfect way to experience it!
I have done all three and crossing everything to win!
Irving Street Kitchen sounds like it’d be great fun!
I would have loved to try the Yakuza PFA.
I would certainly enjoy to attend them all, even those from past events. So, if I must choose one well here goes: Cocotte. It is a gut feeling, and I hear I have a knack for that.
Good answer!!!!
FUN! I’d pick Irving Kitchen. I’ve wanted to try that place for ages.
I had never heard of Portland Food Adventures until reading this post – what a cool experience. I am a big fan of French food, so the PFA at Cocotte next month is calling my name.
I would love to attend the February 10th Portland Food Adventure. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Chef Chesa’s creations, but I haven’t had a chance to try them yet.
