This is another place that I had eaten dinner at, but I had never done breakfast. Once I remembered they were offering breakfast I quickly add them to 9 Breakfast Places I Am Excited About. The location is great, the space is great, all I needed to find out now was if the breakfast was great too.

Today seemed like a day we needed to start with a sweet treat. Breakfast is the one meal where you can start with dessert and never get judged. The Ricotta donuts with lemon curd caught my attention so we started those while we figured out the rest.

Our server told us we wouldn’t be disappointed with these. Even after some banter back and forth, she even guaranteed our satisfaction. She was right. Crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside, slathered with lemon curd. It was all good. Don’t miss these.

I perused the menu and chose the Duck Hash. It had brussels sprouts, butternut squash and potatoes. After our server left my husband asked why I didn’t order the Benedict. Quite honestly I didn’t see it. I did see brussels sprouts and butternut squash, so I knew I had made a great choice. I love both of those things. I have to say this is one of the best hashes I have ever had. EVER. I was a little nervous about the duck, but I love brussels sprouts (did I mention that already)? The duck did not have a strong flavor.

There was just enough duck in it to know it was there, but not so much it over powered the dish. Not only that, but isn’t this dish just beautiful? Great presentation.

My husband got the smoked trout hash. It too was a great dish. It had both potatoes and apples as the base. He sometimes complains that hashes don’t have enough potatoes to soak up all the other stuff, but this one had a great base. He was really pleased with this.
It’s been awhile, but check out our dinner here.
- Atmosphere is very simple here and bright and light. It’s much bigger than I remember it. In the summer they offer outdoor seating as well.
- Pricing is about $13 an entree.
- Service was great. I loved our server.
- They serve lots of brunch cocktails, but we just had tea and coffee.
- Accanto is located on Belmont St.
The food looks gorgeous! And those little lemon curd donuts? OMG.
