You have heard me talk about Portland Food Adventures, the primo dining experience. I have been to 5 of them. I not only love that you get some real close and personal time with the chef, but you also get to see them show off. They will create things that might not be on the menu, just trying to wow you. You will be served about 6 courses, each different, creative and spectacular. Most times each course with come with some kind of drink pairing. I have been to some that have been all wine, some that have been all beer (yay!) and some that have been a mix of wine, beer and cocktails. Each one is different.

The price of the Portland Food Adventure includes everything; drinks, meal and gratuity. All you do is pay once and enjoy the rest of the night. Just when you think the night has come to an end, Chris Angelus, who is the founder of Portland Food Adventures, says a few words of thanks and then hands everyone their gift certificates. That’s right, you walk away with gift certificates to the chef’s favorite restaurants around town. The gift certificates vary from dinner to dinner, but you will get around $30-$40 in gift certificates. What kind of gift certificates you ask?? Well, for instance:
- Chiang Mai – a great little Thai place on Hawthorne
- Kenny & Zukes – If you love Pastrami or corned beef you are in for a treat.
Portland Food Adventures has graciously donated these two gift certificates (Chiang Mai and Kenny & Zukes) for this giveaway. In order to be entered to win one of these 2 gift certificates:
- Let me know if you have ever been to a Portland Food Adventure and which one.
- If no, then what is keeping you from going?
- The last thing is let me know which gift certificate you would like to receive. I will be drawing 2 names and giving away both of these.
The next Portland Food Adventure is at the brand new restaurant The American Local. I have not been here yet, but I am hearing great things and I have been seeing some impressive looking pictures.
There is also a Portland Food Adventure – In the Kitchen. The next one will be with chef, Kat LeSueur from Cocotte. I was able to attend a blogger dinner at Cocotte and loved everything about it. I mean I did chose this as My Most Favorite Place to Dine in 2013. In the Kitchen is a little different. It’s at Standard TV & Applicance in Beaverton. Kat LeSueur will be there cooking a dinner for you, while teaching you how to do it. This one will take place on March 6th. There are only a few spots left. These are very fun, interactive, plus you get a 3 course meal with pairings. Be sure to check this out.
This Giveaway close on midnight Friday the 28th. Winners ( yes 2) will be announced next day. Good luck and thanks for following along this month. Just so you know more people have donated giveaways so there may be more coming in the following months.
This giveaway is closed. Congrats to Heather M. with the Kenny & Zukes and to Katie Mc. with the Chiang Mai.
Though I get the Portland Food Adventure newsletter, I’ve yet to go to one of their events. The culprit is usually timing…or should I say lack of time. Would love to give Kenny and Zukes another try as I hear a lot of good things about them, but my one experience with them wasn’t great.
I have never been on a Portland Food Adventure. I was unfamiliar with them until recently when I came across your blog. My husband and I have lived in the area just over a year and feel like there is so much to learn about the local offerings! There are so many unique places to dine. We love Thai and the Chiang Mai would be right up our alley! Thanks for the chance!
I have never been, I’d never heard of it until your blog post. But I will certainly be checking it out soon! I would love to win Chiang Mia!
Have never been to a Portland Food Adventure… mostly due to the cost. Would love to try either one of the restaurants but probably Chiang Mai more because I love thai food so much! Haven’t ever been to either one though!
Hello. I have been to The Bite of Portland a few years back. After starting a family and work life my hubs and I find it hard to really get out and enjoy being foodies. I found your page on Facebook and I prefer referring tp your suggestions on restaurants over googling them! *peace of mind* we’d love to try Chiang Mai!
We’ve never been to a Portland Food Adventure, but we’ve only heard excellent things about them. Quite honestly, it’s something we always say we want to do/will do and never get around to it. But I’m sure it’d be awesome. I’d love to try Chiang Mai – the menu looks great and we LOVE Thai food! Happy last day of your Birthday Month! 🙂
i have never been to a portland food adventures event yet, i would like to go but the price is out of my budget. i would love to win a gift certificate to Kenny and Zukes . happy birthday month and good luck to me !
Oh boy!! Tough choice, both gift certificates sound super nice. I’de choose Kenny & Zukes as it just sounds hoppin’ delicious. Had I known about Portland Food Adventure previously I’de of been all over that — So here we go, fabulous idea for the tough boy’s birthday comin’ up!!!
I went to the PFA-In the Kitchen with Sarah Schafer of Irving Street Kitchen. Everything was super delicious and it was fun to watch her cook, too! I just wish she’d share that fried chicken recipe. Yum! I used to live a couple of blocks from Chiang Mai so have been many times and even taken out of town guests. Always delicious! I’m a big pastrami fan so I’d love to win a gift certificate to Kenny & Zukes.
I love trying new places, but being single, I have to budget. I read your posts and longingly look at all of the pictures you take of all that great food. What keeps me from going to a Portland Food Adventure, sadly the cost.
I’m all about heading out on an adventure alone, movies solo no problem, vacations no problem, Portland Dining Month no problem, going to Chiang Mai Mai no problem, bring on the great food!
I haven’t tried it yet – time and money are the culprits. We’d love to try Chiang Mai, perfect for my gluten-free partner 🙂
Nope, I’ve never been on a food adventure. Why? Because we have 2 little kiddos so going out is rare. 😉 Both restaurants sound really yummy. My hubby would probably prefer the place with pastrami, but I LOVE thai food so that would be my choice. 🙂
I have never been to Portland Food Adventure but it’s sounds really fun! Maybe for my anniversary in September… We love Thai food and would be very excited to try Chiang Mia Thai.
Let me know if you have ever been to a Portland Food Adventure and which one.
If no, then what is keeping you from going?
The last thing is let me know which gift certificate you would like to receive. I will be drawing 2 names and giving away both of these.
I have never been to a Portland food adventure–I didn’t know about them!
Now that I know, I will go!
I would love to receive either but Thai is amazing!
I just discovered your website and love it. Haven’t been to a Food Adventure, but it sure sounds like fun. I would enjoy going to Kenny and Zekes for sure!
LOVE THE KENNY & ZUKE’S PASTRAMI!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never been to Portland Food Adventures. I really have no excuse either. I actually would love to try Chiang Mia because I have NEVER had Thai food. But either would be a great win!
I haven’t been to a Portland Food Adventure–probably because we live 90 miles away! I do, however, have occasion to visit; and, I love delicious food! Thai is my favorite cuisine, but I also love a great Pastrami or Corned Beef sandwich (my brother worked at a Kosher Deli in the Bronx and I have fond memories of the sandwiches he made for me when I visited). I’m actually driving up your way today because my son has an appointment at OHSU. We’ll probably wait to eat until after we get away from rush-hour traffic, tho. Looking forward to trying out some of your suggestions when I have time to enjoy. Happy Birthday!
I have never been to Portland Food Adventure yet, just wait to find someone to go with, I would LOVE to try Kenny and Zekes I love Pastrami, but then I would Love to try Chiang Mia Thai!!
