Pizzasmith
When I was invited down to try this new pizza place I wasn’t sure what I was in for. Fast food pizza. I won’t lie, I was a little scared. As soon as I walked in the doors I almost instantly knew this was going to be good. I got the grand tour, if you will, with the whole explanation about how they came up with the concept, all the way down to where they get their produce.
Now for the real test..
You choose a pizza on the menu and they assemble it right in front of you. See something else you would like to add? Just let them know and it can be added at no extra cost. Easy on the toppings though, because too many toppings and the pizza will be soggy. If you have a combo that you love that’s not on the menu, then do a build your own pizza. Once it’s all assembled and you approve they send it down to the wood fired pizza oven. While it starts cooking you can also order a salad. Again, choose something off the menu and you can add things if you like.

It takes about 3-4 minutes to cook your pizza. They use all farm fresh, local ingredients, nitrate free peperoni, rbst free cheese and they even offer a gluten free pizza crust. Did I mention that you can do half and half on your pizza? We tried 4 pizzas on our first visit. I had roasted brussels sprouts with potatoes, caramelized onions and bacon. The other one was the seasonal and it was all vegetarian with a butternut squash. I love my veggies and they were perfectly roasted, heated up well, tasted amazing. It will be hard to go back and not order this pizza again. My husband chose the chicken and pesto, which was very flavorful and the Meat the Pizzasmith. Both of his were great too.
Before you pay choose one of the beers or wine that they have on tap. When everything is ready they will call your name.
Such a great concept for people that want really good food with more of a fast food approach, yet there is no sacrifice in ingredients. It’s great if you are off to see a movie and don’t have time for a full sit down dinner. (It is right next door to Bridgeport Movie Theater.) We loved this place. We already have plans to go back and take friends.
- Atmosphere is very bright and open with clean lines. It’s a very casual “order at the counter” kind of place. They also have outdoor seating.
- Since it’s such a new concept in ordering pizza it was great that the staff was so helpful.
- Pricing was right around $9.75 for the pizzas.
- Beer and wine on tap and a pretty decent list for both.
- Pizzasmith is located in Bridgeport Village right next to the movie theater.
I was invited down to try this meal for free. It was amazingly delicious and we have already made plans to bring back friends, so as you might guess all these opinions are my own and I stand by them. Don’t believe me? Follow me on Instagram, I will be back.
