I was on AM 1360 this morning, so if you are here visiting because of that show, welcome to my site and please let me show you around.
I love Portland, and the food scene is so huge it’s hard to tackle even a part of it in a small amount of time. My Favorites List is so big I can’t even rattle the whole thing off if someone asks me on the spot. Portland knows good food and I have made it my goal to search out as much of it as I possibly can.
Back in April there were something like 13 new restaurants opening. This summer there were nearly as many. The best part is each one is trying harder to outdo the last one. Which means we are sitting in the perfect spot. We get to see the culinary battles and sample all of them. Follow my Pinterest for New Portland Restaurants to stay in the loop. Sometimes it’s fun just to make a day of it and EatYourWayThru.
My readers all pitched in a gave me their most favorite places to eat and play in Portland. This post has been a huge hit and it’s been rePinned over 700 times. This goes to show you that Portlander’s love their city just as much as I do. We seem to be chatting about different things on my Facebook page often. Following along if you want to join in on those conversations. I don’t do this alone you know. I am always asking for suggestions.
If you were to ask me right now to give you my favorite restaurant I would have to say Cocotte or Old Salt Marketplace. Cocotte is very much a celebratory dinner place. It’s an older bistro in NE Portland and it holds so much charm. The food is outstanding as well as seasonal. Old Salt Marketplace won our hearts with the “Choose Your Price Chef’s Tasting.” We enjoyed such a great meal that when we learned they were serving brunch we were there nearly the first weekend it was offered, and it was fantastic.
Favorite food cart is Carte Blanche. Her food will sing in your mouth. Her menu changes often, but it doesn’t matter, it’s all good.
Take time to check out my Pinterest page. On there you will find every category I could think of. I have Breakfast, Food Carts, Dinner and much more. I even have it divided up by parts of town, SE, NE, NW, SW and outside of Portland. Of course my most popular board is Cheap Eats. Back in April I spend the whole month doing a “Cheap Eats” series and all of those plus many more are listed on this board.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope my site encourages you to get out and try some great Portland restaurants. Don’t make me try and eat all this good food myself.
