Batter Griddle and Drinkery
Getting out for weekend brunch has been hard lately. Summer happens and we just try and take advantage of weekends away. With that comes the challenge of trying to find a weekend for brunch. But nonetheless we finally found a day and made our way down to Batter. We tried to get there as early as possible, but there was still a huge line. Luckily there were only 2 of us, so we chose to sit at the counter, which is first come, first serve. We love the counter because it gives you a great seat for all the dishes coming out.

I have been ordering less and less Eggs Benedicts lately for no real reason, but this one got my attention. The Cumberbatch had all the makings of eggs bennies with pork belly. I was somewhat alarmed when I realized that the pork was actually in the pancakes, but once I figured that out I was ok. The hollandaise sauce was crazy good, with a hint of lemon.

My husband ordered the Red Velvet Pancakes. He kept saying “It’s like I’m eating cake for breakfast” and he was so right. Great flavor, but I’m a savory girl so it was a bit too sweet for me. For all of you out there that have a sweet tooth, this is something you will LOVE.

We plan to try again because we did discover (from sitting at the counter) that there are a few more dishes we would like to try. By the looks of the lines at this place it must all be good.
- Atmosphere was very open, kind of loud, yet super bright with tons of windows. Good for families, as we saw tons there.
- Pricing was about $9-$10 per entree and portions were nice sized.
- Service at the counter was great.
- Drinks included tons of alcoholic breakfast options beyond the mimosa.
- Batter is located on NE Freemont.
