Hi, I’m Amy, I am a lover of food and all things Portland, and there is a lot to love about the Portland Food Scene. I want to help you find the perfect meal in Portland, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner or a sit down restaurant, food cart or special occasion. I want you to be satisfied and wanting to dive into more Portland food.
I started this blog in 2011. With new places opening up every single month I have learned that my job will never end, and I love it. If you are wondering what my favorites are you should check out my Favorites list, which I am always updating.
The best part about Portland is that there are so many restaurants that are locally owned. Those restaurants serve locally sourced food. They all have their very own unique twist on an item. Sometimes they are hits, sometimes they are misses. I have had both. I will try anything once, like Norwegian food, Chicken Liver Mousse and Spam cupcakes.
The 2 things I love to try and will try at nearly every place is Eggs Benedict (I consider myself a connoisseur) and Pork Chops or pork done any way. I am always looking for new, different and creative presentations. I think I found the best Pork Chop in Portland too.
I am always trying to find the hidden gem. With restaurants opening up every week it’s impossible to go to all the new ones. Plus the new ones get all the buzz, so I try hard to keep you up to date on new places through Facebook & Twitter. For my blog though, I will do hidden gems (like underground restaurants), even though I have been known to go to some of the new & talked about places.
Portland also has a huge Food Cart Scene. HUGE! I have enjoyed diving into that. I walk away often surprised that I can get such a great meal for a fraction of the price, with top quality food and have it be better than some restaurants that we have visited.

For those of you that must know. I play basketball 2-3 times a week. I also do spin, yoga and I love to hike. That’s how I keep eating all this food.
Disclosure :: When I go into restaurants I don’t want them to know I am there. Everyone takes pics of their food with their phones, and so do I. If I were to take in a big camera and spend time photographing the food, they might wonder. And to be completely honest, it’s kind of embarrassing.
I have no intentions of writing and publishing a book. I have no intentions of becoming a famous food critic. I am just gal that enjoys eating good food and I want to make sure you know where you can find some. If any of those things change, you will be the first to know. For now….I Eat
